Cohort - Backup Pool Volunteer

Proximity Foundation runs structured coding education programs for young people aged 14-18 at Community Care Institutions (CCIs). Using a computer-based LMS curriculum covering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, we pair students with volunteer mentors in cohort-based sessions designed to build real technical skills and lasting confidence.

We are scaling from the first cohort to many cohorts within Mumbai and building the operational team that will carry this program forward. Every role in Proximity Foundation is a direct investment in the young people we serve.

Step in to cover sessions when active mentors are unavailable. You'll build familiarity with the LMS curriculum and student cohorts so you can jump in confidently on short notice — and scale into a full mentor role as the program grows.

• →Attend orientation and occasional training sessions
• →Maintain close communication with Program Coordinator

Most weeks are quiet — you're on standby. When called in, you'll have a session plan ready and a quick briefing from the Program Coordinator. The expectation is responsiveness and readiness, not constant availability.

A low-commitment way to get involved that could easily grow into a full mentor role. You'll be part of the team from day one and get to see the program in action.

1. Driven by the social initiatives and want to make an impact in the lives of under-privileged students
2. Available in the evening for one hour (two days a week only )
3. Available for duration of 6 months
4. Have relevant skills and interests - HTML, CSS, Javascript and SQL
5. Women wanting to start/restart their career can also apply.
6. Have a desktop/laptop and a stable internet connection.
7. Can speak and understand Hindi & English
