Full Stack Engineer (Elixir Backend Focus)

We're looking for a AI-first Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend and Elixir expertise to own partner APIs and dashboards that power the qiibee ecosystem (partnered Miles & More, Etihad Guest, and more).

In this role, you'll combine deep backend expertise with AI-powered workflows to take features through every stage — from architecture and coding to deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvement — across a double-entry ledger, partner-facing APIs and the React interfaces on top of them.

You'll be a key point of ownership for our core platform, ensuring every partner integration is correct, reliable and well documented — supported by AI at every step.

• Design, build and operate Elixir services with Phoenix, Ecto and OTP: APIs, workers and background jobs.
• Build and evolve our partner-facing REST APIs, including versioning, outbound webhooks and delivery guarantees.
• Work on money-adjacent systems where correctness comes first: ledgers, points balances, settlement and reconciliation.
• Own frontend features end to end in React and TypeScript, from the admin and partner dashboards to the API behind them.
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code) daily to move faster, while reviewing their output.
• Review code substantively, and act as a second pair of eyes on system correctness.
• Write the reasoning down: clear PR descriptions, architecture notes, and docs updated in the same pull request as the code.
• Collaborate with product and our infrastructure team on deployment, monitoring and security on AWS.

• AI first: Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) every day.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering, with 4+ years on the backend.
• 3+ years of production Elixir with Phoenix, Ecto and OTP, shipped and operated, not learned on the side.
• Strong PostgreSQL: real SQL, transaction semantics and performance tuning.
• Solid REST API design and background job processing (Oban or equivalent) with retries.
• Proven experience in the loyalty, travel tech, payments or FinTech industries.
• 3+ years of React and TypeScript, strong enough to own a frontend feature outright: components, state, forms, validation and error handling.
• Working knowledge of AWS (ECS, RDS, S3), Docker and CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Fluent in English

• Built features on top of LLM APIs or AI agent workflows
• Redux Toolkit / RTK Query, LiveView, Node.js (Express) or GraphQL.
• Multi-tenant B2B platforms, multi-region architectures, observability (AppSignal, Sentry, Datadog) and SOC 2 exposure.
