Core Rsch Facil Technician III

• Perform RNA DNA QC using the Nanodrop and Qubit instruments (for quantitation) and the Agilent Bioanalyzer/TapeStation and Nucleic acid extraction.
• Process SNP analysis using the Gene Titan Axiom platform and send data to customers.
• Perform qPCR, digital PCR, and efficiently and accurately deliver the data to customers.
• Track iLab-submitted projects and upload data to iLab.
• Maintain laboratory supply inventory, access incoming packages, and perform periodic defrosting and cleaning of -80°C and -20°C freezers and 4°C fridge.
• Additional duties assigned.

$45,000 - $46,000

BA/BS in a related scientific field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Core or technology-specific licensure and/or certifications where applicable. Additionally, yearly certificate and compliance training if required.

• 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in a scientific research laboratory using standard molecular biology or recombinant DNA methods.
• Knowledge of and experience working with and maintaining laboratory equipment/supplies.
• Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate lab records as well as handle data efficiently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with employees and customers.
• Previous experience in customer service.

BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline with 2 years’ experience in a multi-user core facility environment focused on analyzing RNA for gene expression studies.

• Experience operating a Digital PCR System, qPCR, 10x Genomics Chromium technology, and GeneTitan Multichannel System.
• Experience in preparation, quality assessment, and processing of nucleic acids.
• Ability to learn new laboratory procedures rapidly.
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate projects.
• Ability to accept constructive criticism from a supervisor.
• Self-motivated, positive individual.
