Half-day Bookkeeper

Managing the full bookkeeping and governance functions, this role underpins financial clarity and operational accuracy for an established fashion and accessories business. Based in the Cape Town CBD from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Thursday, the position operates with a strong focus on deliverables, supporting monthly reporting, statutory submissions, and day-to-day administrative oversight. You require strong technical proficiency to handle end-to-end accounting tasks independently. Requirements Execute and manage the complete business bookkeeping, accounting, and financial management function. Regulate, verify, and authenticate all accounting transactions across sub-ledgers and general ledgers. Complete monthly closure procedures and perform general ledger account reconciliations to resolve discrepancies timeously. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports, incorporating channel, gross profit margin, product, customer, production, and expense variance analysis. Oversee and ensure the accurate representation and integration of Shopify, DEAR (Cin7), and Xero reporting platforms. Compile annual financial statements, interim financial statements, and supporting schedules. Prepare and manage annual forecasts and budgets, tracking monthly variances against actual performance. Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and manage accounts receivable, creditors, accounts payable, and stocktake processes. Prepare and submit statutory returns to SARS, including monthly PAYE EMP201 declarations, bi-annual EMP501 reconciliations, Company Income Tax Returns (ITR14), and Provisional Tax Returns. Compile underlying supporting schedules for statutory filings, including VAT, Income Tax, STATS SA, and SARB requirements. Facilitate the submission of CIPC Annual Returns and Financial Accountability Supplements (FAS), calculating turnover-based fees and facilitating timeous payments. Address and filter all ad-hoc accounting requirements, queries, and corporate reporting deliverables efficiently. Benefits Part-time - 9:00 -13.00 Monday to Thursday
