Project Manager 2

We are looking for a Project Manager II to join our growing team. You’ll work alongside industry experts and local partners to help deliver regulatory-driven restoration projects that support both ecological and economic goals. 

You’ll be based out of our Onsite Field office near Antioch, IL. working with multi-disciplinary teams that include scientists, engineers, construction professionals, and subcontractors. Future projects could warrant more travel up to 50%.

• Min 5 years working as a construction Quality Control Manager in Heavy Civil, Environmental, Ecological Restoration, or Stream Restoration projects. 
• Experience leading USACE or NAVFAC construction projects or equivalent federal agencies with ecology focused deliverables.  
• Familiarity with USACE quality control requirements, including the three-phase control process.
• 5+ years in ecological restoration or equivalent fields of work.  
• Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management certification, or the ability to obtain the certification before beginning work.
• Experience reviewing and documenting earthwork, excavation, drainage, stream restoration, culvert installation, erosion control, seeding, planting, and habitat restoration activities.

What You day to day will look like: 

• RES is a team-oriented company.  Our project managers are responsible and accountable to our teams and projects.  We expect Project Managers to lead alongside our site and crew managers.  
• This is a job-focused position.  This position will be expected to report to the field office, with the current project focus in Lake County, IL.  
• Supporting internal and external contracting teams to deliver high-quality ecological solutions that meet our clients' expectations.  This may include work planning, scheduling equipment, internal staff, or subcontracting teams.  It can also require documenting work through as-built documents, field data collection, daily quality control reports, inspection records, testing documentation, deficiency logs, submittal logs, and progress of payment support.  

RES Requires this position to deliver: 

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, surveying and layout, material testing, compaction requirements, and environmental protection measures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues before they affect the project schedule or final acceptance.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based construction environment and maintain a professional working relationship with the USACE project team.
• All of the above with a strong understanding of ecological restoration processes

• Experience working on ecological restoration, mitigation, or conservation projects
• Familiarity with regulatory processes, such as wetlands permitting or environmental compliance
• Experience coordinating subcontractors or vendors in a project setting
• Ability to identify problems in the field and suggest solutions independently
