Plan, coordinate, and successfully deliver specialty water and mechanical construction projects, including work at data centers, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, reclaimed water systems, industrial water treatment facilities, and hydronic systems. Ensure project goals are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams. Manage budgeting, scheduling, contracts, buyout, documentation, meetings, billings, change conditions, labor productivity, cost control, and project closeout.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • →Manage and supervise day-to-day operations of project staff and field teams on assigned projects, accounts, and service work.
  • →Manage assigned specialty water, wastewater, treatment plant, and hydronic system projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • →Review and thoroughly understand project scope, contract requirements, deliverables, and timelines.
  • →Ensure customer contract agreements are secured, reviewed, processed, and executed.
  • →Participate in Sales-to-Operations and preconstruction turnover meetings for assigned projects to confirm scope, budget, schedule, procurement needs, and project risks.
  • →Develop, review, finalize, and distribute project budgets. Establish and maintain project schedules, procurement plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • →Monitor and update project schedules throughout execution.
  • →Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment with the purchasing agent, including buyout planning to meet or improve established schedule dates and budgeted costs.
  • →Oversee construction activities involving hydronic and process mechanical systems, treatment equipment, process piping, pipelines, pump stations, instrumentation and controls, SCADA, and chemical feed and dosing systems.
  • →Ensure project work complies with contract documents, project specifications, applicable permitting and regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control procedures. Ensure required permits and licenses are obtained and posted.
  • →Initiate, review, and oversee project administration and documentation to protect the interests of RK Water and its client. Ensure required submittals are reviewed, processed, approved, and tracked in maintained submittal logs.
  • →Negotiate, prepare, process, and execute subcontract agreements. Manage contract administration, subcontractor coordination, and owner communications.
  • →Price, negotiate, and process change conditions and change orders. Document changes to project scope, cost, and schedule while supporting claims avoidance.
  • →Ensure projects are appropriately staffed with field forces, including review, updating, and approval of labor resource loading. Monitor labor productivity and analyze performance.
  • →Oversee the use of tools and rental equipment on assigned projects. Ensure equipment that is no longer required or being used is returned promptly.
  • →Manage the overall financial performance of assigned projects through ongoing cost control, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring, including earned-value reporting as applicable.
  • →Develop, submit, and obtain approval of the billing schedule of values.
  • →Prepare and submit accurate monthly contract valuations on time.
  • →Maintain an overbilled cash position, proactively request retention releases and payments, and collect progress billings and retention receivables on or before their due dates.
  • →Review, approve, and process subcontractor and supplier invoices.
  • →Facilitate regular project meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • →Communicate project status, risks, cost and schedule impacts, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders.
  • →Support commissioning, startup, operator training, system testing, and successful turnover of completed systems and facilities to owners and end users.
  • →Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying opportunities for additional work and long-term partnerships.
  • →Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Prompt, punctual, and regular attendance during core business hours, in an office environment, currently located in the 80 E 62nd Ave area of Denver, including a reliable means of transport to and from work.  Ability to occasionally travel between corporate offices and jobsites within the Denver Metro Area, during work hours.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
  • Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

 

Requirements

  • 5–6 years of relevant project or construction experience; a degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of process mechanical piping systems, building on the knowledge of an Assistant Project Manager.
  • Good knowledge of project budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, forecasting, and labor productivity.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, change orders, submittals, progress billing, and project closeout; proficiency with project management and scheduling software.
