As the HR Advisor - Talent Acquisition and Onboarding at Rosebel Gold Mines, you'll oversee the complete hiring process, including onboarding and offboarding interviews. You will work with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and facilitate the onboarding of new hires, ensuring they acclimate effectively to the company's culture and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing Talent Acquisition strategies to attract top candidates.

  • Managing candidate sourcing and pools, including building talent pipelines and engaging candidates through various channels.

  • Developing and managing the 30-60-90 days onboarding process and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the new hire experience for better retention.

  • Conducting exit interviews and preparing insightful reports.

  • Overseeing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and managing candidate resumes.

  • Screening applications, conducting interviews, and selecting candidates based on qualifications.

  • Conduct Recruiting Strategy Meetings with hiring managers to assess current and future workforce needs, recruitment priorities, internal promotions, career path development, succession planning, and talent development initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives.

  • Regularly updating Hiring Managers on the recruiting process and maintaining professional communication with all stakeholders.

  • Providing exceptional service to candidates and the hiring team throughout the recruitment process.

  • Conducting training sessions for hiring managers on competency-based selection, interviewing techniques, and recruitment processes.

  • Establishing a smooth onboarding system for new employees and supervising on-site programs for successful integration.

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment and onboarding of new hires.

  • Knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in the functional area of Talent Management, typically developed and gained through related formal education and related experience or an equivalent combination.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced working knowledge of Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data management, formulas, functions, PivotTables, reporting, and data analysis.

  • Exceptional relationship-building and customer service skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English and speaking knowledge of Sranan Tongo.

  • Willingness to work at the Rosebel Gold Mines site, primarily in Brokopondo, on a rotational schedule of five (5) consecutive working days (Monday to Friday), followed by two (2) consecutive days off, in accordance with operational requirements.

  • If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goedgedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.

The HR Advisor – Talent Acquisition and onboarding works in a combination of office and field environments at the Rosebel Gold Mines operation. The role requires regular interaction with hiring managers, employees, candidates, contractors, and external stakeholders.

  • Primarily based at the Rosebel Mine Site in Brokopondo, with regular travel between the mine site and Paramaribo as required.

  • Standard work schedule of 5 days on / 2 days off (Monday to Friday), 12 hours per day, with occasional additional hours to meet operational recruitment priorities.

  • Regular field visits to operational departments, workshops, processing plants, and contractor work areas to support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.

  • Regular participation in recruitment campaigns, career fairs, community outreach programs, networking events, and educational institution visits. The role requires flexibility to attend recruitment activities during and outside normal working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as operational and business needs dictate.

  • Exposure to mining site conditions, including dust, noise, heat, uneven terrain, and varying weather conditions during field activities.

  • Required to comply with all Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), security, and site access requirements, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering operational areas.

  • The role involves managing multiple recruitment processes simultaneously while working under tight deadlines and changing operational priorities.

  • Occasional travel, weekend work, or extended hours may be required to support recruitment events, onboarding activities, emergency hiring needs, or other operational requirements.
