The role is responsible for assisting in maintaining the safety and security of the Rochester Regional Health facilities, under supervision. The trainee will learn and demonstrate the duties of a full security officer, including performing security patrols, answering security calls, conducting initial investigations, and responding to emergencies. The role emphasizes customer service and teamwork, and the trainee will receive on-the-job training in all essential security functions.

Responsibilities

→Training & Development: Complete required security training, certifications, and shadowing to learn hospital policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
→Security Operations (Under Supervision): Assist with patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and emergency drills while gaining hands-on experience.
→Safety & Risk Awareness: Identify and report hazards, participate in fire safety checks, and support patient and visitor safety initiatives.
→Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear, accurate incident and activity reports while learning investigatory and documentation practices.
→Professional Conduct & Teamwork: Uphold hospital values, demonstrate integrity, and work collaboratively under guidance to develop into a fully independent Security Officer.
