We are a warm, faith-filled, and lively household with six daughters ranging from infant to preteen. Life in our home is full — school runs, activities, a small dog, frequent hosting, and the kind of wonderful organized chaos that comes with raising a big family. Both parents' young adult brothers are living in the home temporarily as well, bringing the headcount in our house to ten people for the time being. We love food, we travel, we host often, and we take pride in a home that feels calm, clean, and welcoming even when everything is moving fast.

Our household runs best when someone is quietly and confidently holding it all together behind the scenes. One parent is a business owner who balances working from home with time in the office managing their employees, while the other parent is home full-time with the six girls. We are intentional about connection, whether that's morning coffee each day as a couple, or hosting friends and family in our home. The right person for this role will understand professional boundaries and knows when to give the family space.

The role we are hiring for is substantial. This is not a housekeeping position — it is a household management role that requires initiative, creativity, strong organizational instincts, and a genuine love for serving a busy family well. The right person will come in, learn the household, and eventually run it independently without needing a daily checklist.

The right person for this role can:

  • Create a home that feels effortlessly put together
  • Anticipate needs without being asked (and handle them proactively)
  • Notice what’s low, out of place, or could be made more special
  • Restore order by quietly resetting spaces throughout the day
  • Support children with warmth, patience, and steady presence
  • Adapt calmly to the unpredictability of a large household
  • Read the room and adjust tone, pace, and help accordingly
  • Assist the family with a hospitality mindset
  • Prioritize children so they feel valued and never “in the way”
  • Design seasonal touches and small moments that make the home feel special
  • Contribute thoughtful meal ideas and planning support
  • Build organizational systems that actually stick
  • Apply executive-level thinking to household operations
  • Take satisfaction in results rather than recognition

  • Morning assistance getting children ready for school — breakfast preparation, backpacks, and out the door by approximately 8:05am

  • Activity transportation for the older children, including karate (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and horseback riding lessons (Wednesdays)
  • Preparation of backpacks, snacks, and grab-and-go school lunches

  • Birthday & Celebration Coordination**:** Help plan and execute birthday parties, assisting with themes, decor, catering coordination, activities, and hosting needs.
  • Daily dinner prep for approximately 10 people, 5 nights per week: marinating proteins, chopping, and staging all ingredients so the family can finish cooking the meal
  • Progressive ownership of weekly meal planning: starting with family direction and building toward independently developing a meal plan each week based on family preferences and seasonal inspiration
  • Weekly seasonal and special treats (e.g., pumpkin spice items in fall, holiday-themed baked goods, maple cookies, specialty coffee drinks)
  • Batch breakfast prep: grab-and-go freezer items (breakfast sandwiches, wraps) for the two additional household members; lighter options for the children (protein muffins, oatmeal cups)
  • Weekly prep of snack cups and grab-and-go lunch items for school

  • Maintaining and evolving household organization systems throughout the home, with an eye for what the family needs even before they ask
  • Seasonal clothing transitions for six children: managing sizing, organization, and donation coordination
  • Managing drop zones and entry areas, including individual locker-style storage for each child: shoes, backpacks, and outerwear consistently cleaned and organized
  • Full family laundry — washing, folding, and organizing with attention to sizing across six children
  • Ironing and steaming as needed
  • Stain treatment and special garment care
  • Linen and towel rotation
  • Maintaining a tidy, well-stocked laundry area
  • Proactive inventory management of household supplies (paper goods, cleaning products, towels, and everyday essentials) — replenishing before items run out

  • Mail and package handling: receiving, sorting, opening, and breaking down boxes
  • Grocery orders via Instacart and other household supply management
  • Receiving and sorting packages and subscriptions
  • Miscellaneous errands including returns, gift shopping, and dry cleaning as needed
  • Keeping family vehicles consistently fueled
  • Scheduling vehicle cleaning and maintenance appointments

  • Regular light dusting throughout the home, including wall paneling and trim (feather duster routine on applicable days)
  • Periodic deep cleaning of appliances, baseboards, and high-use areas
  • Flagging items for the dedicated Monday cleaner and prepping accordingly

  • Source and establish landscaping service and ensure yard maintenance is done regularly

  • Sourcing and coordinating outdoor maintenance services (landscaping, lawn care, snow management); serving as primary point of contact for contractors and vendors on-site
  • Indoor pool maintenance — training provided by the family
  • Dog walking daily
  • Schedule and provide transportation for monthly grooming appointments
  • Make sure food and water are always full
  • Maintain well-stocked and tidy pet supply area
