A Sandvik Coromant Reliability Engineer plays a key role in improving the uptime and reliability of equipment related to manufacturing, infrastructure, and site utilities.  The role will utilize engineering analysis, predictive tools, strategy development, and continuous improvement of systems to ensure safety, minimize failures, promote machine efficiency, and reduce overall maintenance cost.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive (PM), predictive (PdM), and reliability-centered maintenance programs for production equipment, facilities, and utility systems.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to establish and maintain asset criticality rankings that drive prioritization of reliability initiatives and resource allocation.
  • Implement condition monitoring (thermography, oil analysis, vibration analysis, ultrasound, etc.) to support condition-based maintenance (CBM) programs and equipment analysis where possible.
  • Analyze equipment failure data, work order history, condition monitoring data, etc. using RCA and FMEA tools and data analysis/trending software to identify improvement opportunities, support data-driven decisions, and reduce maintenance cost.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams to identify and eliminate equipment “bad actors” through equipment improvements, optimization of PM/PdM/CBM strategies, enhanced operator and maintenance training, and spare parts optimization.
  • Provide technical support for the installation, modification, and relocation of equipment to ensure optimal reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance, including creation and maintenance of supporting documentation and databases.
  • Administer and continuously improve the CMMS, including development of SOPs, maintenance plans, spare parts lists, technical documentation, and performance reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

The Reliability Engineer is an organized, self-motivated professional and quick learner with an innovative mindset and strong teamwork skills. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and accountability.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
