Process Engineer

As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in optimising production processes, improving efficiency, reducing costs and driving improvements across quality and operational KPIs. 

You will define and implement best-practice manufacturing methods, applying Lean, Six Sigma and industrial engineering principles to support continuous improvement.

Working closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Sourcing and equipment suppliers, you will also support new product introductions and production transfers, helping to identify and implement the equipment and processes required for successful delivery.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide technical support to assigned production areas, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, enhance quality and optimise key production KPIs
• Define and implement best-practice production methods, applying modern manufacturing technologies and industrial engineering principles
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S and other process improvement methodologies
• Analyse and optimise manufacturing processes using tools such as Process Analysis, FMEA and Capability Studies
• Develop and maintain production and technical documentation, ensuring processes and standards are effectively implemented
• Optimise workplace layouts and material flow to improve productivity and manufacturing efficiency
• Support the training and development of production employees, particularly around machinery, manufacturing technologies, processes and continuous improvement methods
• Support preventative maintenance activities and help ensure the effective operation of production equipment
• Partner with Project Leaders, R&D and Manufacturing teams on New Product Introduction (NPI) 
• Support engineering and production change processes, including ECR/ECO activities and production acceptance in line with established procedures
• Contribute to ISO systems and technical audit preparation, supporting adherence to relevant quality and manufacturing standards
• Participate in Tier meetings, escalating issues appropriately and taking ownership of agreed actions
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire prevention and company management systems, as well as applicable internal procedures

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Experience within process engineering, or a closely related manufacturing discipline such as production or quality engineering
• Knowledge of process and industrial engineering methods
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy, taking ownership of your production area and proactively identifying and resolving issues
• Strong written and spoken English

• Knowledge of electronics and printed circuit boards (PCBs), with experience of electronic manufacturing processes such as Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Through-Hole Technology (THT) and integrated circuit testing
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
