Specialist, Environment, Health and Safety

The Environment, Health & Safety Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and execution of key initiatives across the EHS organization. This role serves as the EHS contact and resource for assigned areas/departments in Blythewood, SC. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Environment, Health & Safety, the Specialist helps to develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs for Production and Construction 

The ideal candidate brings practical environment, health and safety experience including personal protective equipment, emergency response, hazard response and management and employee training. They demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, evolving work environment and effectively manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.

Coordination & Execution 

• →Assist with coordination of daily activities, including acting as a main point of contact for Production and EHS teams 
• →Serve as the EHS contact and resource for assigned areas/departments in Blythewood, SC 
• →Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs for Production and Construction  
• →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices appropriate for risks, hazards, and conditions 

Program Development & Compliance  

• →Conduct risk assessments to ensure risks and hazards are identified and mitigated 
• →Own and manage PPE, Life Safety and safety equipment for assigned areas 
• →Develop and deliver curated training programs for Production and specialized work  
• →Ensure compliance with industry safety standards; local, state and federal regulations; and company safety policies and procedures 

Incident Response and Documentation  

• →Respond to incidents, lead/participate in investigations, learning teams, and communicate as appropriate 
• →Work closely with People team, Risk & insurance, and onsite Health Service for light duty, return to work, and other programs 
• →Maintain detailed records of equipment safety assessments, inspections, and corrective actions. 
• →Prepare and submit regular reports on safety performance and improvement initiatives.
