Leads complex technical work within a specialty and solves ambiguous problems that span multiple systems. Designs integrated solutions and provides authoritative direction on major change efforts—without supervising personnel. The Corporate Security Technology team is responsible for the enterprise physical security technology platforms supporting Sempra, SDG&E, and SoCalGas. This role serves as the primary engineering and technical governance resource for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, and CSOC technologies. The position leads enterprise lifecycle planning, modernization, technology evaluations, test lab activities, platform upgrades, and strategic technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Develops and governs enterprise physical security technology architectures, engineering standards, technical specifications, integration strategies, and technology roadmaps supporting access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, CSOC platforms, and related infrastructure.
- →Leads security technology lifecycle management, modernization initiatives, platform evaluations, upgrades, replacement strategies, and technical debt reduction efforts, ensuring alignment with Corporate Security, Information Technology, cybersecurity, and business requirements.
- →Provides enterprise engineering leadership by overseeing technology testing and validation, complex system integrations, vendor and integrator technical deliverables, governance documentation, and the Corporate Security Embedded Engineering asset and support services.
- →Oversees data recovery services and business continuity planning in cooperation with key users and local operations staff.
- →Delivers operational updates to IT leaders who are responsible for business demand and funding.
- →Oversees the formal communication process to report on status of planned and unplanned outage notifications for critical systems and applications.
- →Leads the procurement, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of software for operations.
- →Leads monitoring of data backups in offices for business continuity in the event of a disaster or hardware failure and ensures that they are completed on a regular basis.
- →Reviews escalated application performance issues, and alerts emergency resources when a problem occurs.
- →Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with other teams and business areas to facilitate cross functional problem resolution and process improvements.

Required:
- Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline. Master's degree in a technical or business-related field is desirable.

- Typically requires 8 years of related experience.

- Experience leading enterprise physical security technology programs including lifecycle planning, platform modernization, system integrations, and technology governance. Proven ability to manage vendors, influence stakeholders, build business relationships, and lead cross-functional initiatives.

- Systems Administration - Performs a variety of functions including user management, system monitoring, backup and recovery, and access control.
- Technical Documentation - Technical documentation refers to any document that explains the use, functionality, creation, or architecture of a product.
- Technical Reporting - A form of subjective and formal report that presents the objectives, processes, and results of technical work.
Preferred:
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise physical security technologies, system architecture, platform integrations, and supporting infrastructure including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, security operations center technologies, network, server, storage, cloud, and virtual environments.
- Experience developing engineering standards, technical specifications, technology governance processes, lifecycle management strategies, disaster recovery capabilities, modernization roadmaps, and enterprise technology evaluation programs.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, program management, vendor management, and business relationship management for complex enterprise technology initiatives. Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, business units, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, vendors, and system integrators while coordinating priorities, driving accountability, and delivering successful business outcomes.
Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.

- Genetec Security Center Certification
- Relevant security technology, networking, cybersecurity, or project management certification: LenelS2, Gallagher, Genetec, Security Industry Association certifications, CompTIA Network+, Security+, CISSP, PMP
