At Absolute Air Services, we’re looking for an experienced, Connecticut-licensed HVAC Service Technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, dependable repairs, and exceptional customer care. You’ll have steady, year-round work, strong support from the office and field teams, and the opportunity to continue developing your technical skills.
You’ll diagnose and service residential heating and cooling systems, clearly explain your findings, and help homeowners make informed decisions about their comfort. Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems.

Service furnaces, boilers, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, air handlers, and indoor air quality equipment.

Identify electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, airflow, and combustion-related issues.
- →
Perform system testing, maintenance, equipment startups, and safety inspections.
- →
Explain findings and present homeowners with appropriate repair, maintenance, or replacement options.
- →
Complete accurate estimates, service notes, equipment records, and job documentation.
- →
Ensure all work meets applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
- →
Maintain a clean, organized work area and protect customers’ homes.
- →
Coordinate with dispatch, customer service, installation, and management teams.
- →
Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.

An active Connecticut S-1, S-2, D-1, D-2, B-1, or B-2 license is required.

Previous residential HVAC service and repair experience.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of heating, cooling, refrigeration, electrical, airflow, and combustion systems.

Ability to independently manage service calls from diagnosis through completion.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to explain technical findings and available options clearly to homeowners.

Commitment to safe, code-compliant, and high-quality work.

EPA Universal Certification required.

Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and field service software.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to perform physical work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, and outdoor conditions.
