Our client is an an established wholesale supplier and distributor of fashion accessories based in Cleveland, Ohio. They are a long-standing wholesale fashion accessories supplier, working with retailers to provide belts, wallets, bags, and related products, supported by a strong distribution network and sourcing capabilities.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly accountable, execution-focused Operations Manager to own the day-to- day operating engine of our wholesale fashion business. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across sales operations, production, inventory management, logistics, and 3PL execution—serving as the central coordinator across internal teams and external Partners.
This role owns execution, work-in-progress (WIP) visibility, communication cadence, and cross-functional follow-through. Success in this role means fewer surprises, faster resolution of issues, clearer ownership, and consistently high internal and external customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager will act as the single point of operational orchestration, translating strategy and demand into disciplined execution.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Execution & WIP Ownership
- Own end-to-end execution of all active operational workflows, ensuring clarity of ownership, timing, and deliverables.
- Maintain real-time visibility into WIP across orders, production, inventory, logistics, and customer requirements.
- Identify risks early (capacity, timing, inventory, compliance) and proactively drive resolution.
- Enforce operational discipline, deadlines, and accountability across teams and partners.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the primary operational interface across:
o Sales leadership & sales operations
o Product development & sourcing
o Customer service
o 3PL warehouse partners
o Freight forwarders and logistics providers
o Suppliers and factories
o EDI providers and customer technical contacts
- Ensure seamless handoffs between sales, product, operations, and fulfillment.
- Align priorities and timing across functions to meet customer commitments.
Sales Operations Leadership
- Oversee sales operations workflows including order management, item setup, routing compliance, customer onboarding, and reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across systems (ERP, inventory systems, vendor portals, EDI).
- Partner with Sales to support forecasting, replenishment planning, and customer readiness.
- Own operational readiness for new accounts, programs, and launches.
Production & Inventory Management
- Coordinate production planning and execution with suppliers and internal product leadership.
- Own inventory health, availability, and alignment to demand.
- Drive inventory visibility, accuracy, and turnover while balancing service levels and cash efficiency.
- Partner with Product to ensure production timelines, costs, and quantities are clearly communicated and executed.
Logistics & Fulfillment
- Own relationships and performance management with the 3PL and freight forwarders.
- Ensure on-time, accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Resolve shipping, receiving, ASN, and compliance issues.
- Maintain operational standards across inbound, outbound, and warehouse execution.
- Ensure product is received, processed, and available in a timely and accurate manner.
Communication Cadence & Operating Rhythm
- Establish and run a consistent operating cadence (weekly execution reviews, WIP updates, issue escalation).
- Produce clear, actionable operational reporting for leadership.
- Ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time.
- Act as the “truth teller” on operational status—surfacing facts, risks, and tradeoffs.
Process Improvement & Scale Readiness
- Identify operational bottlenecks and design scalable processes.
- Document SOPs and standard workflows as the business grows.
- Improve speed, accuracy, and predictability across operations.
- Support operational integration of new programs, customers, or acquisitions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or sales operations within consumer goods, wholesale, or manufacturing.
- Proven experience coordinating across multiple functions and external partners.
- Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, logistics, and order fulfillment.
- Experience working with ERPs, inventory systems, EDI, and customer/vendor portals.
- Highly organized with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, imperfect environment.
