About the Role
~1 min readWe are a UK-based software company building operational technology for the aviation ground handling industry. Our platform helps airport ground handlers digitize work orders, automate billing, track SLA performance, plan resources, and allocate staff in real time.
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who can do more than write code from tickets. This role is for someone who has owned software products or major product modules over multiple years, understands the cost of technical debt, and can make pragmatic architectural decisions.
Key Impact: This is a long-term role with significant ownership. You will work directly with the founders and the core product/dev team to shape the architecture, quality, and scalability of our platform.
Responsibilities
~1 min readYou will take ownership of critical parts of our product, building software that is robust, maintainable, and valuable to real-world operational users. Your responsibilities include:
- →Feature Development: Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using React, TypeScript, C#, ASP.NET Core, and Entity Framework Core.
- →System Architecture: Own backend architecture, API design, data models, and integration patterns for complex operational workflows.
- →Decision Making: Make pragmatic technical decisions regarding scalability, maintainability, performance, and technical debt.
- →Quality Assurance: Improve code quality, test coverage, reliability, and developer practices across the product.
- →Stakeholder Collaboration: Work directly with founders and business stakeholders to turn operational requirements into well-designed software.
- →Infrastructure & DevOps: Contribute to deployment, monitoring, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure on Azure.
- →Leadership: Help shape engineering standards as Toruz grows its technical team.
- →Innovation: Explore practical use cases for AI/LLMs in aviation operations, billing, analytics, and resource planning.
We need a developer with strong product ownership experience.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience: 8–10+ years of software development experience.
- Technical Stack: Strong hands-on experience in .NET / C# backend development and solid working experience with React / TypeScript.
- Domain Background: Proven experience working on a software product over multiple years (preferably in SaaS, Startups, Fintech, Logistics, ERP, Workforce Management, or B2B).
- Architectural Insight: Ability to make and explain architectural decisions, including trade-offs around speed, maintainability, and scalability.
- Engineering Excellence: Strong understanding of backend systems, RESTful APIs, relational databases, testing, and production-quality practices.
- Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure (deployment, monitoring, and operations).
- Soft Skills: Strong English communication; ability to clarify requirements, challenge assumptions, and propose better solutions.
- Autonomy: Comfortable working remotely, independently, and directly with founders.
