The Health Program Manager plans, coordinates, and administers the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program(FLEX) and the Small Rural Hospital Improvement Plan (SHIP) grants and associated contracts for the State of Nebraska.
The Health Program Manager also provides technical assistance to as many as 60+ Critical Access Hospitals and network coordinators, drafts and manages contracts, and assures activities and invoices are processed in compliance with program goals.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Developing and submitting FLEX and SHIP program grant applications, process improvement initiatives, and assuring the timely submission of annual progress reports.
- →Monitoring overall program budget, writing Request for Proposals (RFP)for grant programs.
- →Developing grant applications through communication with hospitals, stakeholders, rural health staff, and establishing criteria for a single grantee that provides services and deliverables for all hospitals under the FLEX and SHIP programs which meets criteria and assures federal standards for all hospital participants.
- →Providing technical assistance to as many as 60+ Critical Access Hospitals and network coordinators.
- →Drafting and managing contracts and assuring activities and invoices are processed in compliance with program goals.
- →Attending national and regional conferences and workshops related to FLEX and SHIP program development.
- →Planning, presenting and participating in health conferences, meetings, and classes to inform others about rural health programs, rural health issues, and resources.
- →Work collaboratively with the Primary Care and Rural Health programs.
