Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Senior Technical Program Manager will work with globally distributed cross-functional teams of Product Management, Software, Hardware, QA, Sales, Marketing, and others to plan, execute, and launch new SonicWall software and network security products. You are responsible for managing the product lifecycle from concept to market launch while maintaining program schedules, budget, scope, and quality. This includes working with external labs and internal teams to achieve regulatory and other government/security certifications. This position reports to the Director of Program Management and is located in Pune, India.
You are an authority in the development and manufacturing of cybersecurity software and hardware appliances in the network security field. You are a leader who steers a cross functional team to achieve a common set of goals. You possess:
- Strong program management skills in the definition, planning, execution, and launch of new cybersecurity products.
- Deep experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple time zones to achieve results by identifying and aligning to shared goals and priorities. Able to hold peers, partners, and yourself accountable.
- Skill in coordinating the work of multiple projects and development teams, successfully managing interdependencies between teams, to successfully deliver coordinated software releases.
- Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to build relationships and partnerships with people of all levels and functions across the company to achieve common goals.
- Presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate program status to multiple levels within the company, including senior leadership.
- Expertise in working with both Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies
- An understanding of network security products, supply chain, manufacturing, and hardware development methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to lead teams to solve complex technical and business problems.
- Involvement with third party contracts and management of outsourced activities / deliveries to meet project timelines.
- The ability to influence key partners, senior leaders, and external partners.
- Experience establishing repeatable processes to optimize the delivery of future products.
- The desire to drive continuous improvement and lead change within a product development organization.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years minimum experience in manufacturing and/or technical product development
- 5+ years of Project and Program Management experience with complex software and hardware programs spanning multiple development teams
- Proficiency with project management and product development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Agile PLM, and MS Project / Smartsheets
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
You have an advantage if you possess:
- Experience leading the development of SaaS / Cloud software products
- Expertise working on new product introductions with manufacturers, suppliers, and product development teams.
- Previous successful certification of network security products to FIPS, Common Criteria, DoDIN and/or CSfC standards
- PMP Certification
