Marine Logistics Operations Specialist

The Marine Logistics Operations Specialist will support the end-to-end coordination of international shipments of marine spare parts and technical supplies to vessels worldwide. The role operates in a highly time-sensitive logistics environment where shipments must often reach vessels within specific port-call windows.

The position will coordinate with international freight forwarders, port agents, warehouses, customs representatives, airlines, shipping lines, customers, and other logistics partners to ensure shipments are delivered accurately and on time.

This is a specialized area of logistics, and comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates with international freight forwarding or logistics experience are preferred, particularly those with exposure to the maritime industry, but direct marine logistics experience is not required.

• →Coordinate end-to-end international shipments of marine spare parts and technical supplies via air, sea, courier, and road freight.
• →Arrange and monitor time-critical deliveries to vessels, ports, shipyards, and other designated locations worldwide.
• →Coordinate with freight forwarders, port agents, customs representatives, warehouses, airlines, shipping lines, courier companies, and other logistics partners.
• →Liaise with port agents and other relevant parties to coordinate vessel deliveries according to vessel schedules and port-call requirements.
• →Coordinate shipment consolidations and movements through bonded warehouses when required.
• →Monitor shipment milestones closely and proactively follow up with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery.
• →Track international shipments from collection through final delivery and provide timely status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• →Prepare, review, and manage shipping and customs documentation required for international freight movements.
• →Ensure shipment information and supporting documents are accurate, complete, and properly recorded.
• →Identify potential shipment delays, documentation issues, customs concerns, or other operational problems and escalate them promptly.
• →Communicate professionally with customers, agents, suppliers, and logistics partners across different countries and time zones.
• →Maintain accurate shipment records and update relevant information in ERP, TMS, or other internal systems.
• →Review freight costs, invoices, and other shipment-related charges for accuracy.
• →Assist with operational reporting, procurement coordination, and shipment planning as required.
• →Manage multiple active shipments and priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
• →Support urgent operational requirements and follow-ups associated with time-sensitive marine logistics movements.

• Bachelor's degree is required. Degrees in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field are preferred.
• Candidates with a bachelor's degree in another field may also be considered if they have relevant logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or similar professional experience.
• Ideally 2–3 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, shipping, supply chain operations, or a related field.
• International freight forwarding experience is highly preferred.
• Experience specifically supporting marine logistics, ship spares, or vessel deliveries is a strong advantage but is not required.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are essential, as the role involves regular communication with international customers, agents, and logistics partners.
• Familiarity with international shipping processes, documentation, and freight coordination.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documents, customs processes, bonded warehouses, and multimodal transportation is an advantage.
• Experience using ERP, TMS, freight forwarding, or similar logistics systems is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive shipments simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to operational issues and changing shipment requirements.
• Proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced international logistics environment.
• Able to work independently in a remote setup while maintaining consistent communication and responsiveness.
