Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of distribution center equipment, facility systems, and warehouse automation. This role helps ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance while minimizing downtime. The position may involve working independently on routine maintenance activities and collaborating with experienced technicians to develop advanced troubleshooting and repair skills.

• Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, printers, scanners, lifts, robotics, material handling systems, and warehouse automation equipment.
• Perform basic facility maintenance, including minor installations, electrical and plumbing repairs, drywall patching, and fixture maintenance.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation equipment.
• Replace wear components such as belts, rollers, bearings, sensors, motors, and other equipment parts.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and support timely resolution of operational issues.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using maintenance management systems and required documentation.
• Assist with or perform troubleshooting of motors, drives, sensors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, and related equipment.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Continuously develop technical skills and maintenance knowledge to support increasingly complex equipment and systems.

• Follow all OSHA, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and facility safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in safety initiatives and support compliance with company policies and regulations.

• Deliver responsive maintenance support to Operations to minimize equipment downtime.
• Partner with Operations teams to prioritize maintenance activities and support productivity, service, and safety goals.
• Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs effectively with internal stakeholders.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Maintenance experience, technical training, military technical experience, or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn maintenance procedures, equipment diagnostics, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform a physically demanding job, including:
• Lifting 50 pounds or more.
• Working at heights.
• Standing and walking for extended periods (6-8 hours per shift).

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Associate degree, technical certification, trade school, vocational training, or equivalent practical education.
• Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience with warehouse automation, conveyors, sortation systems, AutoStore, ASRS, or other material handling equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or controls-related systems.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial controls.
• Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
