Quick Summary
Lead development and integration of SoC bootloader, BSP, and low-level platform software across QNX, Linux, and Android environments. Implement and integrate SoC-specific hardware safety mechanisms,
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in embedded software development,
We are seeking a Sr. Staff SoC Platform SW Engineer with deep hands-on experience in QNX, Embedded Linux, and Android platforms to lead the development, integration, and stabilization of low-level system software for next-generation automotive SoCs.
This role focuses on SoC bootloader development, OS/BSP integration, hardware-assisted safety and security feature implementation, and resolving critical platform issues. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in SoC architecture, low-level debugging, and hardware-software integration rather than general functional safety or cybersecurity engineering.
You will be part of the Platform Software Engineering team at Stellantis, supporting Autonomous Driving, Infotainment, and Connected Vehicle Systems.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead development and integration of SoC bootloader, BSP, and low-level platform software across QNX, Linux, and Android environments.
- →Implement and integrate SoC-specific hardware safety mechanisms, including ECC error handling, fault monitoring, error reporting, and recovery mechanisms.
- →Integrate SoC hardware security features, including secure boot, hardware root of trust, firmware authentication, and trusted execution environments.
- →Drive platform stability improvements by investigating and resolving critical boot failures, kernel crashes, initialization issues, and system hangs.
- →Lead debugging of complex issues across SoC hardware, bootloader, hypervisor, BSP, device drivers, and operating systems.
- →Support SoC bring-up, boot sequence optimization, memory initialization, and multicore system initialization.
- →Collaborate with semiconductor partners, OS vendors, and platform engineering teams to integrate and validate SoC safety and security capabilities.
- →Develop diagnostic tools, automated testing, and fault-injection frameworks to validate SoC functionality, reliability, and stability.
- →Support integration of QNX Hypervisor, Linux, and Android guest environments on virtualized SoC platforms.
- →Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentoring in SoC platform software development and debugging.
