Our Onsite Safety Manager oversees construction safety operations, ensures compliance with legal and company policies, and supports other functions as needed. This role requires extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices in commercial construction. The ideal candidate thrives in high-pressure environments, maintains strong attention to detail, and demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support construction safety operations, ensuring best practices are followed and continuously improved.
  • Train, coach, and provide directions to construction employees to promote safety and job satisfaction.
  • Support construction employees with timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Research and analyze safety concerns; take proactive steps to resolve issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, field personnel, external partners, and clients to resolve safety-related concerns.
  • Prepare safety reports and communicate findings to upper management.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and internal company policies.
  • Maintain and update documentation on current and future safety processes and procedures.
  • Assist with safety audits and various safety-related projects.

 

  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction and safety or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
  • OSHA certification and demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety rules, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety-related legal documents (e.g., OSHA citations, workers' compensation reports).
  • Critical thinker with proven problem-solving skills in identifying and resolving safety discrepancies.
  • Effective under pressure, using a diplomatic approach to address challenges.
  • Elevated level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration across teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with Adobe Pro or Bluebeam.

 

Work Hours

This is an onsite position with normal work hours being variable based on the current site schedule.  Ability to adjust hours and work additional hours to meet business needs when necessary. 

 

Work Environment

  • Frequent walking (up to one city block between facilities).
  •  Lifting up to 30–35 lbs. (storage boxes).
  •  Computer work comprises approximately 20–30% of the day.
