Responsibilities
~1 min readAs the Engineering Manager for Payments, you will play a critical role in driving the execution and evolution of our payments ecosystem in Brazil. You will lead a team of engineers while partnering closely with Product, Finance, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and business-critical payment solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- →Driving efficient execution and delivery across the Payments domain, ensuring projects are delivered with quality, predictability, and impact.
- →Acting as the primary payments subject matter expert and trusted advisor for internal stakeholders, providing technical guidance and strategic input on payment-related initiatives.
- →Strengthening collaboration between Engineering and Finance teams to improve operational efficiency, payment processes, reconciliation, and business outcomes.
- →Supporting the evolution of our payments strategy, architecture, and systems to enable future growth and scalability in Brazil.
- →Leading and developing a high-performing engineering team while maintaining involvement in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and operational challenges.
- →Removing blockers, improving engineering processes, and creating an environment that enables teams to execute effectively and move quickly.
- Strong software engineering background with solid technical foundations and experience building scalable systems.
- Strong product mindset, with the ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations.
- Deep expertise in payments, including experience designing, building, and scaling payment systems and related infrastructure.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams while remaining close to technical decision-making and architectural discussions.
- Fluent in Engilsh (C1-C2).
- Demonstrated ownership mindset with accountability for team outcomes and business impact.
- Hands-on leader who is comfortable engaging in operational and technical challenges when needed.
- Execution-focused, with a track record of improving delivery, removing obstacles, and driving results.
- Strong collaborator who can build trust and alignment across Engineering, Finance, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in an office-first environment with regular in-person collaboration (hybrid model, São Paulo office).
- Effective at building relationships with stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional teamwork.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments where prioritization, adaptability, and strong communication are essential.
