Our client, BWS Architects is seeking a Design Architect to lead the design process on their Phoenix team.
This is an opportunity to apply creativity and design experience to drive the design of interesting and varied Public Works, Community Spaces, Education, and Essential Facilities projects throughout Arizona!  With success, there’s a direct track to expanded leadership, including a near-future opportunity to grow to Principal.

Responsibilities include: focus nearly exclusively on design, develop the design concept and vision, act as a liaison between the client and the production team, share expertise and knowledge to develop more junior architects, continue as a partner through the project to ensure the design intent remains intact, assist with proposals, develop marketing materials, and represent BWS in the community and with potential clients.

Qualifications and Success Factors:
  • Architect with 7+ years of design experience that includes a track record of creative projects and working with clients to align their visions with their needs and budgets
  • Minimum of 3 years of architectural experience in public works, higher education, K-12, Governmental Offices, Community Health facilities, Recreation, Public Safety, or other non-templated community or mixed-use works.
  • Bachelor’s in architecture required
  • Registered Architect in the state of AZ or ability to obtain quickly
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, rendering programs, and MS Office; the ability to use Revit in a professional environment is strongly preferred
  • Energetic and relationship-focused Architect with proven ability to understand the client’s vision, guide design decisions, and effectively influence the team in a way that holds to the design concept and client expectations
  • Strong communicator with a focus on listening, collaboration, and advocating for the best solutions in writing, verbally, and graphically
  • Strong time management skills with the proven ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • This is a close-knit and collaborative environment, so a willingness to wear multiple hats as needed and enthusiasm about participating in the business, as needed, is important
