Key Attributes

As a Senior Manager, you’ll be an accomplished and effective member of the Teneo Consulting team, leading client engagements with the support of Directors and Managing Directors, developing junior colleagues, and bringing a strong understanding of how data, AI and emerging technology can create measurable business value.

You will operate at pace, demonstrate ownership and sound judgement, and be comfortable influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders. You will combine strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture, ensuring analysis and recommendations are rigorous, well-structured and executive-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure and lead projects or major workstreams of complex engagements, working directly with a Director or Managing Director and taking day-to-day ownership of delivery, team performance and client outcomes
  • Demonstrate a strong consulting skill set, leading complex research and analysis, translating business problems into clear hypotheses and practical solutions, and structuring high-quality written output
  • Develop the ‘answer’ from initial hypothesis through refinement and validation with senior colleagues and clients, combining rigorous analysis with sound commercial judgement
  • Lead AI diagnostic and strategy engagements, framing the problem, identifying and prioritising AI use cases, and developing the value case to inform investment and transformation priorities.
  • Lead AI transformation engagements from prioritised use cases through to production, orchestrating delivery across Teneo’s AI consulting capabilities, client teams and external vendors, and maintaining a clear focus on adoption and realised business value.
  • Manage case teams on a day-to-day basis, including planning and delegating workload, coordinating multidisciplinary contributors, and providing coaching and development support to junior colleagues
  • Support Directors and Managing Directors in Business Development, including identifying opportunities, developing thought leadership, drafting proposals and business cases, contributing to RFPs and SOWs, and attending pitches
  • Own day-to-day relationships with senior clients, building trust, understanding their strategic and operational challenges, influencing stakeholders, and escalating issues appropriately
  • Lead workshops and presentations confidently and engagingly, communicating complex strategic, analytical and technical topics in a clear, executive-ready way

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ relevant experience, ideally within a Strategy or Management Consulting environment, with demonstrable progression to project or engagement leadership. Candidates from senior client-side transformation roles who have led comparable multi-party delivery will also be considered.
  • End-to-end engagement leadership: a strong track record of leading complex client engagements or transformation programmes from problem definition and use-case prioritisation through delivery, adoption and measurable value realisation.
  • Multi-party delivery orchestration: demonstrated experience coordinating delivery across a mixed ecosystem comprising delivery teams, client internal functions (business, technology and data) and external vendors or systems integrators, including vendor selection and management, cross-boundary governance and the maintenance of clear accountability in the absence of direct authority.
  • Engagement management: ownership of engagement economics, including scoping, resourcing to margin, change control and the management of scope.
  • Value realisation and adoption: the ability to quantify benefits at the outset and track them through to post-implementation measurement, informed by an understanding of where AI value is commonly lost (notably the pilot-to-production gap and limited adoption) and supported by the change-management discipline required to embed new AI-enabled ways of working.
  • AI fluency: a sound understanding of data, analytics and AI, spanning current and emerging paradigms (generative and agentic), machine learning, data platforms and AI-enabled products, together with fluency in the AI delivery lifecycle and the principal reasons AI initiatives stall (data readiness, model performance uncertainty, proof-of-concept-to-scale attrition and adoption resistance). Deep hands-on engineering expertise is not required.
  • Business-to-technology translation: the ability to convert senior stakeholder objectives into actionable roadmaps, operating models, business cases, solution requirements and measurable success metrics.
  • Analytical and quantitative rigour: excellent analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills, with the ability to move from ambiguity to a clear, evidence-based recommendation.
  • Senior stakeholder management: excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior executives and cross-functional business, technology, data, risk and governance teams.
  • Business development: a commercial mindset and experience contributing to proposals, pitches, thought leadership and go-to-market activity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Responsible AI and governance: awareness of responsible AI, data governance, risk and regulatory considerations, and the ability to incorporate these into client recommendations and delivery approaches.
  • Academic background: degree qualified (2.1 or above preferred) in any discipline; technical, quantitative and business backgrounds are all relevant.
  • Sector experience: sector specialisation is not required, although experience across Financial Services, Consumer, Manufacturing, TMT, Technology or other complex enterprise environments is advantageous.
  • Languages: Proficiency in a major European language is advantageous.
