Welding Engineer - Lansing Area

• →Develop and optimize welding procedures for various manufacturing processes.
• →Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• →Specify and procure welding equipment, consumables, and automation solutions.
• →Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
• →Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications.
• →Evaluate new welding technologies and materials for potential application.
• →Collaborate with design engineers to ensure weldability of new products.

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their application to different materials.
• Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, non-conformance resolution, and continuous improvement methodologies related to welding.

• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification
• Experience with robotic welding systems
• Familiarity with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods beyond visual inspection
• Project management experience, particularly related to welding process improvements
• Advanced CAD software proficiency for fixture design or weldment analysis
