This role focuses on people management, delivery execution, and team health, enabling engineers to perform at their best while aligning closely with global standards and technical direction.
The Engineering Manager will work closely with Lead Developers, QA, and stakeholders across regions, ensuring consistent delivery across a large portfolio of corporate and marketing websites, spanning legacy platforms and a modern web stack.
As part of onboarding, the successful candidate will spend approximately two weeks in the London office to align on ways of working, standards, tooling, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
~1 min readManage and support a team of web developers based in Pune
Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture
Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members
Act as the primary people manager for the Pune web team
Oversee day-to-day delivery, capacity planning, and workload prioritization
Ensure work is delivered on time and to agreed quality standards
Collaborate with Project Management, QA, and DevOps to support smooth releases
Identify delivery risks and escalate where appropriate
Help establish and maintain consistent development processes
Work closely with Lead Developers to ensure alignment with architectural and technical standards
Partner with global stakeholders across London, the US, and Europe
Support hiring efforts for the Pune team in collaboration with global leadership
Act as a local escalation point for delivery or people-related issues
Help mature development practices and team workflows over time
Support adoption of new tools, platforms, and processes
Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team
