Material does not move itself. On active mining, earthworks, and extraction sites, the haul cycle is the heartbeat of production—every load that leaves the face on time keeps loaders, crushers, and road crews working. This role puts a skilled operator in the seat of that cycle, moving ore, waste, and construction material safely, cleanly, and to plan.
- Haul assigned loads between dig faces, dumps, stockpiles, and work areas so daily tonnage and cycle targets are met without idle equipment downstream.
- Complete pre-start inspections and report defects before the shift starts production, keeping the truck available and roadworthy.
- Spot under loaders and at dumps on the first approach, cutting wait time and avoiding rework or spillage.
- Run each shift with zero recordable incidents, staying inside speed, berm, and right-of-way rules on active haul roads.
- Hold radio contact with dispatch, loading units, and spotters so traffic, breakdowns, and changing dump plans are handled without delay.
- Protect tires, brakes, and fuel use through smooth gear selection, controlled descents, and correct loading position.
- Leave the truck fueled, cleaned, and parked to standard, with a clear end-of-shift handover.
You will work on open-pit, earthworks, road, and extraction sites under a shift supervisor, alongside loader operators, spotters, and maintenance. The seat is a heavy rigid or articulated haul truck, supported by two-way radio, pre-start checklists, and on-site fueling and servicing. Shifts follow production schedules, including early starts, nights, and weather delays. You will not set mine plans; you will execute them and flag conditions that put people, roads, or targets at risk.
Requirements
~1 min read- Valid license and proven hours operating haul trucks on mine, quarry, or heavy civil sites—not light commercial driving alone.
- Ability to hit cycle times and spot accurately around loading equipment in dust, grades, and changing dump locations.
- Working knowledge of pre-start inspections, basic fault reporting, and when to park a truck rather than run it.
- Clear radio discipline and the ability to follow spotter and dispatch instructions without argument on the road.
- Fit for shift work, including nights, and willing to follow site induction, fatigue, and substance rules.
- Spanish or English sufficient to take safety briefings and give a precise handover; both is an advantage.
- Real production seat—not yard shuttling—across mining, roads, earthworks, and extraction work.
- Direct line to the people who load you and the supervisor who owns the shift plan.
- Early-stage contractor environment where reliable operators are known by name and kept on the good circuits.
- Skills that transfer across pit, civil, and extraction fleets rather than a single repetitive run.
If you can move tons safely and keep the cycle tight, apply with your license class, truck types, and recent site hours. We hire operators who show up ready to haul.
