The Project Engineer III is responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the Product Development Process (PDP) as a guide to achieve project objectives for New Product Development projects. Responsible for product maintenance, cost improvement, quality improvement and similar projects. Directs and coordinates a project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments.
This position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL.
- Perform engineering design evaluations to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
- Work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
- Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Provide technical support throughout the engineering process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges.
- Design, implement, and communicate an operational plan for completing the project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
- Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
- Identify, develop, and gather resources necessary to complete the project.
- Prepare engineering designs and work specifications.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years of related experience in Engineering and Manufacturing.
- Proven work experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
Strong project management and supervision skills.
HOW TO STAND OUT
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of gas combustion principles.
- Knowledge of heat pump design and heat exchanger optimization.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles and vapor compression.
Knowledge of analysis & system development tools (e.g. ANSYS/Fluent, ANSYS/Mechanical, MATLAB, LabView, Pro/e, EnergyPlus, GT-SUITE, etc.)
