ROLE
The Senior Scheduler, Pipelines is responsible for the review of multiple project and bid schedules. The position provides scheduling support and assists in the planning, development and coordination of schedules from proposal to project delivery including analysis of data and providing reports to key stakeholders and clients.
                                                                                                                
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                         
  • Prepare complex construction and front-end planning schedules, fully resource loaded supporting the estimating and proposals team.
  • Liaise with project teams on award of a project to produce compliant baseline project schedules and basis of schedule.
  • Consult the appropriate project team members and follow scheduling procedures as a means of ensuring that proper scheduling processes are followed prior to the commencement of work.
  • Liaise with Estimating team and Project Management regarding scheduling activities and be able to discuss impacts of the work progress and offer resolution to problems.
  • Serve as technical advisor to Project Schedulers and provide solutions to difficult production problems.
  • Exercise judgement in the selection, compilation and analysis of data obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Review complex project schedules across the business.
  • Review, monitor and report on progress of work and any problems that affect the planned schedule.
  • Maintain the P6 database and identify, record and report on the impact of work performed against current baselines.
  • Prepare routine reports to the management team regarding proposal and project scheduling activities.
  • Responsible for production of proposal stage resource histograms in liaison with the responsible estimator.
  • Evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates.
  • Report on the impacts of resource assignments to SMJVs programme of work.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all other schedule records and reports.
  • Perform schedule integrity audits across the SMJV programme of work and ensure corrective actions where required.
  • Monitor compliance with company schedule standards and processes

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience and education and / or a combination of relevant engineering or construction degree, technical diploma program, and relevant experience.

Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in a project planning role, preferably in the oil and gas pipeline construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience using Primavera P6 (required) and Tilos (preferred).
  • Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management).
  • Experience in TILOS time-location planning software is considered a strong asset, but training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Intricate working knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Working knowledge of Tilos would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work well as part of a high functioning team in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Effective change management skills.
  • Ability to use judgment and critical thinking skills when faced with ambiguous situations.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create effective solutions.
  • High proficiency with analytical tools, particularly spreadsheets and application software.
  • Strong planning, scheduling and decision-making skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and maintain strong relationships across different teams, to achieve the best results and deliver the most value.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a permanent position based at our Calgary office with a 5-day work week, 8-hour days. Travel to project sites will be required from time to time.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Senior Scheduler, Pipelines reports to the Senior Scheduling Manager.
