The Lead serves as the technical expert for facility systems and helps prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities and is highly skilled in HVAC/R, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and industrial utility systems. This is not a facilities management role —it is a hands-on technical position.

  • Lead daily maintenance activities while actively performing hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain facility infrastructure and industrial building systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and utility systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot:
    • HVAC and refrigeration equipment
    • Air compressors and compressed air systems
    • Electrical distribution systems, lighting, panels, receptacles, motors, and controls
    • Plumbing systems
    • Building automation and facility controls
    • Process cooling water and other facility utility systems
    • Respond quickly to facility-related issues that impact manufacturing operations.
    • Install, repair, and modify facility equipment and infrastructure as needed.
    • Perform general building maintenance including carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, ceilings, lighting, and flooring repairs.
    • Support equipment installations, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvement projects.
    • Conduct routine inspections to identify and correct potential equipment or facility failures before they impact production.
    • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and accurately document completed work in the CMMS.
    • Mentor and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians while setting expectations for quality and safety.
    • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other powered equipment.
    • Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
    • Coordinate with outside contractors only when specialized work is required.
    • Participate in after-hours or emergency repairs as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    •
  • Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment repair.
  • Operation of motorized maintenance equipment.
  • Occupational hazards and safe working practices.
  • Building and grounds construction and maintenance, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in HVAC/R, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and repair industrial facility equipment.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations with minimal reliance on outside contractors.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Working knowledge of industrial utility systems and facility infrastructure.
  • Experience using preventive maintenance programs and CMMS software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • EPA Universal license required
  • 5+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
  • Residential, apartment, hotel, retail, and commercial property maintenance experience alone does not meet the requirements for this position.
  • EPA Universal Certification is required.
  • Experience maintaining industrial HVAC/R equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, mechanical equipment, plumbing, and facility utility systems.
  • Previous experience serving as a Lead Maintenance Technician or mentoring other technicians preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS software preferred.
  • Forklift and aerial lift certification preferred or ability to obtain.
