Senior EHS Specialist

Job Purpose

The Senior EHS Specialist will provide hands-on environmental, health, and safety leadership within the VulcanForms (Devens, MA location).  The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and employees to identify hazards, reduce operational risk, ensure regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, and strengthen the site's safety culture.

The Senior EHS Specialist will serve as a visible shopfloor EHS leader, helping translate regulatory requirements and company standards into practical, sustainable controls that support safe production and continuous improvement.

This role will require to be onsite at Devens, MA facility.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead day-to-day implementation of site EHS programs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections, audits, observations, and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with established EHS policies, procedures, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions through closure.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, compliance documentation, and performance data.
• Support development and continuous improvement of EHS procedures, standards, and work instructions.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to identify hazards and implement effective engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses / Job Safety Analyses and task-based risk assessments.
• Support safe introduction of new equipment, processes, materials, and facility modifications.
• Participate in operational readiness reviews and pre-startup safety assessments.
• Provide EHS guidance for machine safety, hazardous energy control, electrical safety, material handling, PPE, chemical safety, and other manufacturing risks.
• Maintain a strong shop-floor presence and coach employees and leaders on safe work practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, medical device, precision machining, metal processing, or a similarly complex industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience implementing EHS programs and working directly with manufacturing operations.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.

The annual base salary range for this position is $112,000-$155,000.
