Application Engineer - High Voltage Solutions

About the Role

The High Voltage Solutions (HVS) Application Engineer is responsible for managing the quotation and negotiation process from receipt of a Request for Quotation (RFQ) through negotiation closeout. This role works closely with sales teams, customers, and manufacturing facilities to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with field sales teams, customers, and manufacturing facilities throughout the quotation process.
• Review and evaluate RFQs, specifications, emails, and customer requirements.
• Develop a strong understanding of customer applications, OEM requirements, and market needs.
• Lead quotation opportunities and take ownership of the process from initial review through final submission.
• Gather critical project and customer information to determine the most effective quotation strategy.
• Prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations for WEG products and solutions.
• Follow established pricing guidelines while identifying opportunities that may require alternative pricing strategies.
• Communicate with customers and sales teams to obtain feedback and clarify requirements.
• Review purchase orders as needed and support order processing activities.
• Generate order entry documentation and maintain accurate project records.
• Organize and manage quotation and order documentation, both electronically and in hard copy when required.
• Provide technical and commercial support to Project Coordinators and Project Managers as needed.
• Stay informed on industry trends through research, publications, conferences, and customer site visits.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field; OR 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience OR
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Experience & Knowledge

• 1 to 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer within the electric machines industry or a related industrial market.
• Experience supporting customer quotations, technical proposals, and commercial negotiations.
• Exposure to OEM, utility, industrial, or power generation applications is a plus.
• Experience supporting application engineering activities within the electric machines, motors, or related industrial equipment industry.
• Technical knowledge of electrical machines and their applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
