Join our dynamic team as a Senior Business Analyst, Business Optimisation. In this role, you will specifically focus on supporting the Group Customer Operations view of its process landscape, including the transition away from a manual inventory to an intelligently sourced process inventory. Thissignificantly contributes to the Group Customer Operations transformation agenda, especially with a the process landscape being simplifies under Westpac’s strategic transformation program, UNITE.
The initiatives you lead could contain various solution options that span technology, digitisation, automation, and business process simplification. You will partner with senior executives, business process owners, fellow project professionals, solution designers and architects to define business problems, benefits and solutions, and deliver end to end project outcomes. Your primary stakeholder group will be the Group Customer Operations extended leadership team, who you will develop a strong working relationship with to deliver high quality outcomes of material value.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead data analysis to understand data attributes and table relationships (e.g., one-to-many and many-to-one), validate assumptions (including unique counts), and quantify data volumes to inform decision-making.
- →Define and embed data governance practices for the process inventory and reporting (e.g., data quality rules, ownership, definitions, controls), partnering with stakeholders to improve consistency and usability.
- →Partner with Business Performance/ Process Office teams to shape reporting requirements and deliver insights and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Excel) that support leadership decisions and benefits tracking.
- →Lead stakeholder engagement to elicit, analyse and document requirements (including process and data requirements), facilitate workshops, manage expectations, and secure agreement on scope and outcomes.
- →Operate effectively across multiple initiatives and streams in an Agile environment, supporting planning and ceremonies, managing the analysis backlog, dependencies and delivery milestones.
- →Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions across requirements, data and delivery; provide clear status and escalate appropriately to protect outcomes.
- →Provide thought leadership on project delivery excellence, and business optimisation
- Data-driven BA: strong data interpretation/validation and proactive data governance (definitions, ownership, quality controls) to ensure trusted reporting.
- Reporting and insights: strong Power BI and Excel; able to translate data into clear business insights. Exposure to Power Automate and SharePoint.
- Outcomes and ownership mindset: drives complex problems end-to-end; escalates early; manages risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions.
- Stakeholder leadership: elicit, document and manage requirements; facilitate workshops; align scope and outcomes.
- Continuous improvement: curious and quick to learn; interest in AI and process/task mining, with responsible use to improve analytics and process optimisation.
- Agile delivery: balances multiple streams; supports ceremonies and planning; maintains analysis backlog; tracks milestones and dependencies.
