Senior Manager, Lending Management Operations

You'll lead a high-performing team at the heart of Westpac's Institutional Bank, supporting complex corporate lending transactions and helping deliver exceptional support to some of Westpac's largest institutional banking customers. Based in Sydney, this is a permanent leadership opportunity offering a hybrid working environment, with 3-4 days per week in the office. You'll also play an important role during key reporting and quarter-end periods, helping the team manage escalations and deliver exceptional service outcomes.

Leading a high performing team of lending specialists, you'll oversee the operational delivery of corporate lending transactions from origination through to settlement and portfolio servicing. Working closely with Product, Credit Risk, Finance, Treasury, FX, and Lending Services teams, you'll ensure lending operations run smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on risk, customer outcomes and operational excellence.

You'll regularly engage with other financial institutions and support transactions involving multiple banking counterparties. Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll develop deep subject matter expertise within the team, foster a collaborative and high-performing culture, and identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This is an opportunity for an experienced people leader to combine strategic thinking, operational expertise and a strong understanding of complex lending products to make a meaningful impact across Westpac's global institutional banking operations.

This role will suit someone who understands the end-to-end lifecycle of complex lending transactions and can confidently lead a team supporting institutional banking customers. Experience from a major bank or financial institution with exposure to syndicated lending operations will be highly regarded. 

You'll bring:

• Experience leading teams within corporate lending, institutional banking or financial markets operations.
• Strong knowledge of corporate lending products, including bilateral and syndicated loans.
• Ability to manage complex operational processes while maintaining a strong risk and control mindset.
• Experience building relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders across lending, credit, treasury, FX, derivatives or product teams.
• A passion for developing people, driving continuous improvement and leading change in a fast-paced environment.
