Maintenance Technician Opportunities (Oakland, CA)

About the opportunity   WinnCompanies is actively hiring for several Maintenance Technician I and Maintenance Technician II opportunities in the Oakland, CA area.   Whether you're beginning your maintenance career or bringing years of experience, we're looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, excellent customer service skills, and general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, or HVAC systems.   In these roles, you'll perform maintenance functions throughout the community, including residential apartments, common areas, offices, grounds, and building systems. You'll complete service requests, assist with apartment turns, support preventative maintenance activities, and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents.   By applying, you'll be considered for available Maintenance Technician I and Maintenance Technician II opportunities across WinnCompanies communities in Oakland and the surrounding area. Responsibilities Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC. Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures. Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market-ready status in accordance with company standards. Support preventative maintenance programs, property inspections, and general upkeep activities. Maintain grounds and curb appeal through landscaping, trash management, and other site maintenance activities. Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and business need. Requirements   Maintenance Technician I  Less than 1 year of relevant work experience. $22.00-$24.00 per hour dependent on experience Maintenance Technician II  1-3 years of relevant work experience. $27.00-$31.00 per hour depending on experience For Both Roles General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). Excellent customer service skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Basic familiarity with computers and tablets. Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs. Ability to speak and understand basic English. Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities. Preferred Qualifications Vocational or technical training. Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT). Previous experience in apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
