About the Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join the Medical Packaging Team. In this role you will support manufacturing primarily through equipment monitoring and repair, ensuring a steady supply of quality raw materials, cross-functional influence and continuous improvement.

 

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement. 

 

Pay and Benefits: 

  • $85,000 - $110,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • →Provide support for manufacturing of new and existing packages, ensuring stable, capable, and compliant processes
  • →Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, and New Product Development Integrators to define and execute project schedules for validation, commercialization and continuous improvement of product quality, process capability, ergonomics, safety, environmental impact, and cost
  • →Identify, characterize, and control critical process inputs to ensure reliable delivery of products meeting all specifications and quality system requirements
  • →Specify, procure, and implement new equipment and materials
  • →Identify technical uncertainties, apply engineering fundamentals, and drive resolution of technical challenges using structured methodologies
  • →Apply formal problem-solving techniques to investigate nonconformances, raw material issues, and component failures; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials, or related field) with minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience supporting manufacturing
  • Proven capability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical tools to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot processes (DoE, validation methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and execute projects from development through completion
  • Demonstrated ability to apply structured problem-solving approaches such as DMAIC, PDCA, 5‑Why, Why Trees, and Fishbone analysis
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills across engineering, maintenance, quality, and manufacturing
  • Strong ability to document, communicate, and present complex technical work to diverse audiences
  • Ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, perform risk-based decision making, and drive resolution
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Experience working within a regulated quality system
  • Packaging Experience (Sealing, Boxing, Labeling)

 

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed.  Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore’s work arrangement policies.
