For more than 25 years, Woodard & Curran has offered contract operations and management services for drinking water, municipal and industrial wastewater, groundwater remediation, and solid waste facilities nationwide. Currently we contract operate more than 60 facilities nationwide. Woodard & Curran draws on the experience of hundreds of certified operators across the country, backed by the knowledge and skills of hundreds more engineers, scientists, and regulatory experts, to quickly tackle the most challenging operational issues and keep treatment plants running efficiently and in full compliance.
 
Woodard & Curran is growing, and we are looking for qualified Maintenance Technicians and Mechanics in Boston! As a Maintenance Technician, you will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as hydraulic systems, air handlers, compressors, generators, gearboxes, pumps, engines, power tools, vehicles, and sewer, stormwater and/or water distribution systems, while complying with all company Health & Safety procedures and policies. Must be able to dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Schedule: Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm. Will be required to respond to alarms, emergency situations, rain events, and work in inclement weather as needed which may include coverage outside normal workday hours, including weekends, holidays, etc.
  • Day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facilities.
  • Implementation and management of an innovative predictive maintenance management program.
  • Emergency response for process upsets, equipment failures, rain events, force majeure events, all alarm events, etc.
  • Perform all routine, preventive and corrective maintenance assignments that are assigned to by the project's preventive maintenance and repair program.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the maintenance department and on maintenance vehicles as assigned by the project’s manager.
  • Conduct all work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
  • Complete all work and projects to meet goals and objectives set by the project’s manager.
  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain the following MA hoisting licenses within a predetermined time frame: MA HE-1B-Telescoping Boom w/Cables Cranes HE-3A- Air or Electric Powered
  • Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow healthy and safety procedures.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a DOT background check, DOT pre-placement physical and DOT drug screen before employment.
  • 5-10 years’ of relevant mechanical and technical experience in water and/or wastewater facilities preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
