Wurth Wood Group is a leading supplier of Hardwood Lumber, Plywood, Molding, Cabinet Hardware/Supplies, Laminate, and Building Supplies, and we are seeking an experienced Transportation Specialist for the Richmond, VA branch.  The ideal candidate is a hard-working, organized, self-directed, and highly customer service oriented based individual who is dedicated to helping expand the Wurth Wood Group good name. The Transportation Specialist will be required to interact and service our customers and service providers, to ensure a safe and proper delivery of product.  The Transportation Specialist should provide the best in class customer service and work as a team with warehouse personnel to ensure all product is delivered in a timely manner. The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for driving a CMV (commercial motor vehicle) and therefore responsible for maintaining an up-to-date CDL license.

Responsibilities

  • →Maintain a clean and valid Commercial Driver’s License *Class A or B
  • →Maintain a Valid Medical Card.
  • →Maintain forklift certification.
  • →Must be able and willing to lift up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • →Experience as a transportation specialist in a related industry, preferred.
  • →Must be able to strap and secure cargo and properly arrange and balance it within the vehicle.
  • →Have basic knowledge of all DOT regulations.
  • →High standard of professionalism and ethics.
  • →Preferred style of teamwork, and collaboration.
  • →Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and with written communications.
  • →Ability to interface with customers and employees fostering excellent communication skills and customer service. Our motto is “Customer on Deck”.
