The Facilities Maintenance Technician assists in maintaining hospital buildings, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks involving electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and takes pride in solving problems while supporting a mission-driven organization.


Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hospital buildings and equipment
• Assist with plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, and carpentry projects
• Complete work orders and facility inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively
• Help maintain building systems for safety, efficiency, and reliability
• Move and install equipment, furniture, and facility assets as needed
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe operating condition

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and infection control standards
• Participate in required safety training and department meetings
• Assist with inspections conducted by regulatory agencies and outside organizations
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety standards and operational requirements
• Promote safe work practices throughout the organization

• Collaborate with other departments to address facility-related concerns
• Provide technical assistance and recommendations for facility improvements
• Participate in on-call coverage and emergency response situations as needed
• Support special projects and facility upgrades throughout the organization

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of maintenance, construction, mechanical, facilities, or related experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Basic computer and data-entry skills required
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or general maintenance preferred
• Ability to lift, carry, move, and operate equipment safely
