As the DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with development, security, and IT teams to operate, maintain, and continuously improve ZTR’s cloud platform infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective services across production and development environments. You will monitor platform health and capacity, perform routine maintenance and lifecycle activities, respond to incidents, troubleshoot production issues, and support service continuity. You will also strengthen operational practices through automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, security controls, documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate, maintain, and continuously improve ZTR’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) production and development platform infrastructure
• Monitor platform health, capacity, availability, and performance; respond to alerts and address emerging risks before they affect users
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, lead incident response, restore services, and complete post-incident reviews with clear corrective actions
• Perform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, backup verification, recovery testing, certificate renewals, and infrastructure lifecycle management
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, deployment, database, and production service issues in collaboration with development and IT teams
• Manage cloud networking, identity and access management, security groups, secrets, and infrastructure security controls
• Maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and operational runbooks to support reliable and efficient service operations
• Administer and improve CI/CD pipelines for repeatable software builds, testing, releases, rollbacks, and deployments
• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to provision, configure, and maintain consistent environments
• Automate recurring operational tasks and reduce manual effort, configuration drift, and deployment risk
• Support capacity planning, cost optimization, performance tuning, and service continuity planning for platform infrastructure
• Apply cybersecurity, compliance, and operational best practices across all environments, including controls aligned with ISO 27001
• Create, maintain, and regularly review infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, recovery plans, and knowledgebase content
• Share DevOps and site reliability practices with development and IT teams and contribute to practical, well-defined platform standards
  

Who you are:

• 3+ years of experience in platform operations, DevOps, site reliability engineering or a related role
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or
• Hands-on experience operating and supporting production cloud environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, identity and access management, and cloud security controls
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or equivalent platforms
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex production issues, manage incidents, and document root causes and corrective actions
• Experience with system maintenance activities such as patching, upgrades, backups, recovery testing, certificate management, and capacity planning
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI and with safe deployment and rollback practices
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Experience supporting backend services and database technologies such as Java, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and tooling, including vulnerability management, SAST/DAST, monitoring, and proactive risk mitigation
• Strong written documentation, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability and willingness to participate in a scheduled 24/7 on-call support rotation

The expected annual base salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $120,000 CDN.

The annual base salary is determined through comprehensive market research and considers factors including qualifications, skills, education, relevant experience, work location, internal equity, and alignment with local and industry market data. Our job titles may span more than one career level. Employees may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including Employer RRSP matching. Salary ranges listed in job postings are subject to change.
