Piq Energy is looking for a talented power system engineer with coding experience to join our Athens hub! You will design, build, test, and iterate on our core autonomous grid planning product. In addition, you will be managing grid data and models, support our power system analytics team and our users!

Expect a base of 70-100k EUR (B2B) plus equity compensation.

MEng in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
At least 5 years of industry experience in roles at a utility, system operator, engineering consultancy or similar.
Good understanding of technical standards and regulations related to electricity grid planning, development, operation, and interconnection.
Hands-on experience with commercial power system analysis tools for steady-state studies (e.g., PSSE, PowerFactory, PowerWorld).
Proven ability to manage and maintain detailed electricity network models.
Working knowledge in Python, particularly for automating grid studies, performing data analysis, and generating reports.
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a strong customer-focused mindset.

Nice to Have

Experience with open source power system simulation software (e.g. PowSyBl, pandapower, PyPSA).
Experience with advanced analysis techniques, such as stability, EMT, or real-time simulations
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), modern software development tools and frameworks, containerization (e.g., Docker), and cloud computing platforms.
Working knowledge of the CIM (Common Information Model) standard for power systems.
