Hospital Engineering Manager

Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Hospital Engineering Manager to lead our Estates and Engineering function. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the building, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence across the hospital site.

• →Lead the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant engineering services across the hospital site.
• →Ensure best practice and consistency in all aspects of engineering and estates management.
• →Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring buildings and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
• →Manage and develop a skilled team of site engineers and handymen, supporting their professional growth.
• →Ensure full compliance with Spire’s Fire Policy and all regulatory requirements, including CQC and Public Health England standards.
• →Act as the hospital’s Approved Person (AP) for key systems including medical gases, water safety, low voltage electrical services, decontamination equipment, and heating & ventilation.

We are looking for a confident and experienced Engineering or Estates Lead with:

• AP Qualification is desired.
• A relevant background in electrical, plumbing, or building services engineering. 
• Previous experience of working within a hospital or healthcare environment is an essential requirement of this role.
• Strong management experience essential.
• Previous experience in managing a team.
• Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive, flexible approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
