Senior QA Automation Engineer

We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to build and maintain automated tests within a large scale AWS modernization program. This role focuses on repeatable validation of application behavior, APIs, and integrations using established testing frameworks.

What you will be doing:

You will translate acceptance criteria into automated test scenarios, implement and maintain API and application tests, and expand regression coverage. You will prepare test data and validate interactions across frontend applications, backend services, and databases.

You will integrate tests into CI/CD workflows, investigate failures, improve test stability, and document defects. You will work with developers and framework engineers to maintain reusable test components and report coverage gaps and release risks.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Practical experience writing and maintaining automated software tests.

• Programming skills in JavaScript and TypeScript for test automation.

• Experience with an automated testing framework and reusable test components.

• Experience testing REST APIs, application integrations, and negative scenarios.

• Working SQL knowledge and experience managing test data.

• Experience running automated tests through Git and CI/CD workflows and investigating failures.

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience testing React or Angular applications and AWS services.

• Experience validating asynchronous workflows involving Kafka or Amazon MSK.

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, authentication testing, or CloudWatch diagnostics.

Soft Skills

• Attention to test reliability, coverage, and maintainability.

• Ability to explain failures and collaborate with developers on root cause analysis.

• Ownership of automation improvements and clear test documentation.
