Director, Product Security
Quick Summary
Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for Product Security at CoreWeave, spanning application security, vulnerability management, offensive security, AI product security,
10+ years in security or software engineering, with significant time in application security, vulnerability management, or offensive security. 5+ years of security leadership experience,
The Product Security team at CoreWeave is responsible for making sure everything we ship, and everything we use to build it, is secure by design. The team owns application security, vulnerability management, offensive security, AI product security, and product vulnerability response across CoreWeave. We partner closely with Product, Engineering, and the rest of Security Foundations. CoreWeave is the essential cloud for AI. Come help us secure the platform the frontier runs on.
CoreWeave is seeking a Director of Product Security to lead this organization. This is a highly technical leadership role. We are building security that runs at machine speed: every change threat modeled at design time, reviewed before it merges, and attacked by our own agents before an adversary gets the chance. What our agents find, our agents fix. Threat models arrive in minutes. Pentesting stops being a queue: agents cover the breadth around the clock, third party firms add depth, and our internal team goes after the hardest targets. Humans set policy and make the consequential calls. Security is one of the reasons customers pick CoreWeave, and this org is a big part of how we earn it.
We are agentic first because the surface is growing faster than any team we could hire, and we expect this leader to build the systems that make that real. You will own the strategy and roadmap for product security across the company, lead the managers and senior engineers who run AppSec, vulnerability management, and offensive security, and build the capabilities we don't have yet. You will also set the bar for how security shows up for CoreWeave engineers: a paved road instead of a toll booth, a product they want to use rather than a tax they have to pay.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for Product Security at CoreWeave, spanning application security, vulnerability management, offensive security, AI product security, and product vulnerability response.
- →Lead and grow a multi-team organization of managers and senior ICs, including hiring the engineering managers who will run each function.
- →Build an agentic-first vulnerability program where agents discover, triage, and remediate issues at scale, with the goal of retiring entire classes of risk rather than closing tickets one at a time.
- →Own vulnerability management end to end across CoreWeave's infrastructure and products: discovery, prioritization, SLAs, remediation, and reporting to executive leadership.
- →Run a tiered offensive security program that combines continuous agentic testing, third party assessments, an internal team focused on our hardest targets, and external researchers through our vulnerability disclosure and bug bounty programs. Adversarial testing of our models, agents, and inference stack is part of the job, built for how AI fails: prompt injection, poisoned tools, and abuse of autonomy.
- →Bring offensive security to bear on tenant isolation across shared GPUs, bare metal, and Kubernetes. Platform Security owns the isolation controls and strategy; Product Security makes sure they hold.
- →Build the paved road for CoreWeave engineers: secure defaults, controls built into the tools engineers already use, and findings that arrive validated with the fix attached.
- →Establish one secure development lifecycle for the whole business, including threat modeling, secure design review, and security tooling in CI/CD, and extend it to companies we acquire.
- →Own security for CoreWeave's AI products and for the AI tooling our engineers build with, including model and dataset supply chain, agent tooling, and the provenance of AI-generated code.
- →Stand up and run product vulnerability response (PSIRT): intake, coordinated disclosure, customer communication, and fixes across the product portfolio.
- →Embed Product Security Partners in critical product areas with authority to make design-time security decisions within policy, and maintain a standing leadership cadence with Product Management.
- →Partner with Cloud Security, Platform Security, Detection and Response, and GRC to keep the prevent, detect, and respond boundaries clear and the handoffs clean.
Requirements
~2 min read- 10+ years in security or software engineering, with significant time in application security, vulnerability management, or offensive security.
- 5+ years of security leadership experience, including managing managers and scaling a multi-team organization.
- Proven track record of building or running a product security program at a cloud provider, security company, or large-scale SaaS business.
- Experience taking over existing teams and integrating them into one organization. Most of this org exists today, and you will inherit it.
- A track record of moving engineering leaders on architecture and roadmap decisions you don't own.
- A strong bias for action. You're scrappy, you move fast, and you own the outcome, including the parts nobody assigned to you.
- Hands-on depth in modern application security. You can read a threat model, review a fix, and tell a real finding from noise.
- Experience operating a vulnerability management program at scale, including metrics, SLAs, and executive reporting, and strong opinions about how to do it well.
- Direct experience with offensive security, either running a red team or penetration testing program or having done the work yourself.
- Working knowledge of how AI systems are built and deployed, and of the new security problems that come with LLMs, agents, and model supply chains.
- Enough familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD to be credible with the engineers who build them.
- Experience building and mentoring diverse, inclusive, high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience deploying AI agents or LLM-based tooling for security work, or building the platform they run on.
- Experience running a PSIRT or coordinated vulnerability disclosure function.
- Experience with the security side of M&A diligence and integration.
- Public contributions to the security community: open source, research, talks, or CVEs.
We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match.
Here are a few qualities we've found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we'd love to talk:
- You think security should feel like a product engineers want to use, and you measure yourself by whether they actually use it.
- You'd rather eliminate a class of vulnerabilities than get very good at fixing them one at a time.
- You're comfortable leading through ambiguity and change, and you can balance long-term platform investments with the finding that needs fixing today.
- You have a strong owner's mindset and you stay technical. You still read code, findings, and pentest reports.
At CoreWeave, we work hard, have fun, and move fast! We're in an exciting stage of hyper-growth that you will not want to miss out on. We're not afraid of a little chaos, and we're constantly learning. Our team cares deeply about how we build our product and how we work together, which is represented through our core values:
