Water Technology Field Technician
Quick Summary
Run the system day to day: do equipment rounds, check readings, and make adjustments to keep it running reliably. Take part in commissioning, from installation checks through startup and handover.
Saltworks is hiring a Water Technology Field Technician to put first-of-a-kind water technology to work at a major semiconductor manufacturing facility. You will be hands-on from day one, helping commission the system and then running and maintaining it as part of our growing team in Israel. As our work here expands, this role offers real room to grow, including into senior and lead technician roles. It’s a great fit for a natural problem solver who wants to work with advanced equipment, keep learning, and be part of building something new.
Before startup, you will travel to North America for about three months of training with our team, learning our technology and systems before site work begins. Once on site, you’ll have full technical support, tools, and resources from headquarters behind you.
Key responsibilities:
- Run the system day to day: do equipment rounds, check readings, and make adjustments to keep it running reliably.
- Take part in commissioning, from installation checks through startup and handover.
- Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, including instrument calibration, parts replacement, and equipment repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues on site, escalating to our engineering team when needed.
- Collect samples and operating data, and log readings in Hydra, our AI-enabled operating system.
- Keep maintenance records, spare parts, and tools organized.
- Work closely with the client’s operators and maintenance staff.
- Share what you see in the field, including what works, what breaks, and what could be better, so our engineers can improve future designs.
- Work safely, following lockout/tagout, site, and Saltworks safety procedures.
- 2–10 years of hands-on experience operating or maintaining industrial equipment. Plant operations, field service, or commissioning experience is a strong asset.
- A technical diploma or practical engineering certificate in a mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related field.
- Confidence with hand and power tools, and with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work on pumps, valves, motors, and instruments.
- The ability to read P&IDs, electrical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Experience using PLC, SCADA, or HMI screens is an asset.
- Experience in water treatment, desalination, or semiconductor facilities is an asset.
- An electrician’s license or safety certifications (such as lockout/tagout or working at heights) are an asset.
- A practical, safety-first approach and a habit of keeping clear records.
- Comfort working on your own on site, with support from a remote engineering team.
- Good spoken and written English.
- A valid passport and the ability to travel to Canada and the United States for training.
