Your Impact

The Service & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing reactive and preventive maintenance services across electronic security systems, including access control, time & attendance, CCTV, and life safety products.

The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic security systems to ensure they continue to operate effectively and to a high standard.

This is a client-facing position, with regular interaction with customers to address concerns, provide technical support, and ensure a positive service experience. Strong communication, technical troubleshooting, and customer service skills are therefore key to success in this role.

What You’ll Do
In addition to the above, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide reactive and preventive maintenance services to customers.
  • Conduct routine inspections and assessments of electronic security systems to identify faults, potential issues, or required maintenance.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair access control, time & attendance, CCTV, life safety, and associated electronic security systems.
  • Coordinate with customers and relevant stakeholders to schedule maintenance activities while minimising disruption to operations.
  • Complete routine maintenance tasks and diagnostic testing in line with required service and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, work orders, service logs, and completed works.
  • Document any changes made to system configurations or settings during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on system condition, recurring issues, and areas requiring further attention or improvement.
  • Act as a professional point of contact for customers while onsite, providing technical support and clear communication.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Manage time and workload effectively to ensure assigned jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Follow company safety, quality, and compliance requirements while carrying out work on customer sites.

What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  • Experience working with electronic security systems, ideally within a service, maintenance, or field engineering environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of access control, CCTV, and related electronic security systems.
  • Experience carrying out fault finding, diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requirements effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills and confidence communicating directly with customers onsite.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate service records and technical documentation.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a field-based, customer-facing environment.
