EngineeringEngineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a distributed mobile engineering team responsible for building and maintaining Android and iOS software development kits (SDKs) that bring advanced magnetic positioning technology to developers worldwide. In this role, you will own the mobile SDK roadmap, guide technical architecture, and oversee the delivery of reliable, high-performance developer tools and first-party mobile applications. You will work closely with product, business development, developer relations, and positioning research teams to translate emerging technology into practical solutions. You will also shape engineering standards, strengthen developer experience, and drive adoption through high-quality releases and documentation. As a leader in a remote, international environment, you will foster team collaboration, mentor engineers, and establish effective asynchronous ways of working. This is an opportunity to influence innovative location technology while combining strategic product ownership with hands-on technical leadership.

  • Own the roadmap, development, maintenance, and release strategy for Android and iOS SDKs, as well as first-party mobile applications.

  • Collaborate with product management and business development teams to understand developer needs, prioritize features, and increase SDK adoption.

  • Establish dependable release processes that balance development speed, software stability, backward compatibility, and partner requirements.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators, including SDK adoption, integration success rates, and developer satisfaction.

  • Set the technical direction for mobile SDK architecture, emphasizing clean API design, performance, maintainability, and compatibility across versions.

  • Improve engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery practices.

  • Monitor and optimize SDK performance, including battery consumption, memory usage, and positioning accuracy.

  • Partner with positioning algorithm specialists to turn research advancements into production-ready SDK features.

  • Lead, hire, mentor, and develop a distributed team of mobile engineers across North America and Europe.

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and career development discussions to support individual growth and team effectiveness.

  • Build an inclusive, collaborative team culture that supports asynchronous communication and effective work across time zones.

  • Champion the external developer experience by maintaining high-quality documentation, sample code, and integration guides.

  • Work with developer relations teams to collect partner feedback and continuously improve SDK usability and integration workflows.

  • Ensure first-party mobile applications demonstrate best practices for SDK implementation and usage.

  • Coordinate with colleagues across North America and Europe, maintaining sufficient working-hour overlap and participating in occasional team travel.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software on predictable schedules while balancing technical excellence and product priorities.

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to document decisions, communicate asynchronously, and coordinate effectively across distributed teams.

  • Fluency in English and the ability to build productive relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience owning software roadmaps, establishing release processes, and measuring product adoption or developer engagement.

  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture, API design, software quality practices, automated testing, and performance optimization.

  • Preferred: Direct experience building and maintaining mobile SDKs used by external developers.

  • Preferred: Familiarity with magnetic positioning technology, sensor fusion, location-based services, or related technologies.

  • Preferred: Experience optimizing mobile applications for battery efficiency, memory usage, and performance under constrained conditions.

  • Preferred: Four or more years of experience working in an early-stage startup environment.

  • Preferred: Background in developer experience, platform engineering, or API design.

  • Preferred: Ukrainian language proficiency.

  • Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous, remote-first environment, with reasonable overlap between North American and European working hours.
