EngineeringAutomation Engineer

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing cybersecurity operations through intelligent automation, scalable software engineering, and AI-powered threat response. You will design and deliver sophisticated automation workflows that help security analysts detect, investigate, and remediate threats faster and more effectively. Working within a globally distributed Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team, you will collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to build reliable, high-performance solutions. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with opportunities to innovate in agentic AI systems and next-generation security technologies. You will influence architectural decisions, establish engineering best practices, and mentor fellow engineers while improving operational efficiency at scale. This remote opportunity is ideal for a technically experienced professional passionate about automation, continuous improvement, and protecting organizations against evolving cyber threats.

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of automation features and product enhancements that strengthen managed detection and response capabilities.
  • Architect and build deterministic and agentic automation pipelines that integrate software services, scripting, orchestration, and security data enrichment across multiple tools and platforms.
  • Analyze complex cybersecurity challenges and develop scalable, enterprise-grade automation solutions that accelerate threat triage, investigation, and remediation.
  • Collaborate closely with security analysts, engineering teams, business stakeholders, and technical partners to gather feedback, identify operational needs, and deliver effective automation products.
  • Develop reliable, high-performance web services and data pipelines designed to support growing operational demands and evolving security requirements.
  • Improve service resilience, monitoring, and observability by identifying potential issues proactively and implementing solutions that enhance system reliability and quality.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support the continuous availability and operational performance of critical security systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, technical interviews, and the promotion of engineering standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive work and operational overhead through automation, AI integration, and workflow optimization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and apply AI-driven approaches to improve decision-making, engineering productivity, and security operations.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, asynchronous engineering culture by sharing knowledge, communicating effectively, and supporting continuous learning and innovation.
