ASSISTANT SHIFT SUPERVISOR

  TITLE: ASSISTANT SHIFT SUPERVISOR   POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for leading a team of production shift operators on plastic processing machines (including in-line equipment). The incumbent will make necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality Production and ensure all operators perform their primary duties.   QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent experience  Work safely and promptly report safety issues Report Quality issues and make the necessary changes to the process Excellent verbal and written communication skills Integrity and great work ethic Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude Ability to work independently Team player Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Effectively manage job-related stress and foster productive workplace interactions.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand, follow, and enforce all established policies, procedures, and recognized practices. Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. Operate a group of plastic processing machines and auxiliary equipment safely and to high quality standards. Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities. Perform basic processing to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap. Ensure all operators on shift maintain quality standards. Fill in for operators for vacations, breaks, and absences. Perform frequent, on-time quality checks on products against established quality standards. Assist maintenance personnel with mechanical repairs. Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards. Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner for your shift. Communicate with all members of Production, Shipping, Maintenance, and Management. Coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines’ objectives. Verify material usage per standards. Notify other managers, supervisors, and leads of any major problems or questions. Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift.  Assist in the training of new Operators.   WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION: Plant environment Uniforms provided   PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: Some stair climbing, lifting 25 pounds or more
